Feelings & Friends: Queer Speed Dating with Sweet Tea Social Club

In these challenging times, when we are relentlessly fighting for our lives and the lives of those we love, it is more important than ever to carve out spaces for joy, connection, and community. That is why we’re excited to introduce Sweet Tea Social Club—a project born from a desire to create moments of light and celebration in the midst of our collective work.

Our first offering is Feelings & Friends: Queer Speed Dating, an event designed to bring people together in a warm, welcoming space to foster joy, friendship, and connection.

This is our very first event, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. Our goal is to spend the next several months building community in the Triad area while searching for a permanent brick-and-mortar space for Sweet Tea Social Club. We know that physical space is deeply important—a space where we can gather, organize, dream, and simply be together.

In a world that so often demands our survival, creating space for queer joy is an act of resistance. It is a declaration that we are more than the struggles we face—we are vibrant, deserving of connection, and capable of dreaming beyond the confines of oppression. Joy isn’t frivolous; it is essential. It sustains us, binds us together, and reminds us of the possibilities we fight for.
