My name is Bella Rios and I work with Dr.Sarah Peitzmeier at the University of Michigan. I am currently working on a research study to see the effectiveness of a zine that promotes healthy chest-binding practices. We are currently in the process of recruiting those that are 1) at least 15 years old, 2) identify as transgender, nonbinary, gender-diverse, or on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, 3) have used binding or are potentially interested in using binding to affirm one's gender. As an organization that works with LGBTQ+ people, we are hoping that you would be willing to post the attached study flyer to your social media platforms or listservs. Please let us know if you are willing to assist in spreading the word.
Our study is designed for people who are interested in learning more about healthy chest-binding and live in the United States. Participants would be asked to read the zine, fill out two surveys, and participate in an online focus group. This study will help us learn more about how to inform and empower people to practice healthy binding.
Lastly, if there are any questions about us or our study, please feel free to respond to this email. I’ve attached the flyer below. This study has been approved by the University of Michigan IRB HUM0022354. I look forward to hopefully connecting with you.
Thanks,
Bella Rios
