Bi+ Study with REACH Lab at Virginia Tech

My name is Ella Reitmeier and I am reaching out on behalf of the REACH Lab at Virginia Tech. We are currently recruiting participants nationwide for a paid, fully virtual research study to better understand the unique daily experiences of multigender-attracted (e.g., bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, polysexual, demisexual, etc.) adults and their romantic partners. Specifically, we are examining how stress linked to individuals' intersecting identities (e.g., discrimination, harassment, biphobia, stereotypes about multigender-attracted individuals) impact adults' relationships, how partners support each other during these moments of stress, and other health outcomes. We hope that this study will enhance the inclusivity of couple therapy and will inform the public of the harms caused by harmful rhetoric and policies.

Each participant can earn up to $120 for completing the study. Participants must participate in the study with their partner.

Our study is approved by the Institutional Review Board at Virginia Tech (IRB # 23-399), our research team includes LGBTQ+-identifying members, and all members of our research team are SafeZone trained. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Meagan Brem, and co-Investigators include Dr. Brian Feinstein, and Dr. Ryan Shorey.

We are hoping your organization is willing to advertise our study to your members via any bulletin boards and/or listservs you may have. I have attached the flyer to this email for your reference.

Additionally, here is the link to the screener should you wish to share it with anyone:

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email our research team at VTcouplesstudy@gmail.com or Dr. Meagan Brem at mbrem@vt.edu. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
